How did you decide to have a career in the AEC industry?
My first internship was at a Construction company that was designing and building an automated Metro Rail System. The sheer scale of the project, and the impact it would have on the lives of people once complete, fascinated me and led me to pursue a career in the AEC industry.

Did you have a mentor in your early career? How did they help shape your career?

What is your favorite project you’ve worked on, and why?
Upgrades to the Emergency Distribution system at a major healthcare facility in Southern California. This was one of my first large scale projects in the healthcare industry, exposing me to a lot of new aspects of design engineering. If you could give one piece of advice to a young professional entering the engineering field, what would it be?
Ask lots of questions, even if you think it’s silly, and never stop learning.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
If you’re not learning, you’re not growing.

If you could professionally be anything else outside of the AEC industry, what would you be?
Probably a doctor.
