Meet Citlaly, the Administrative Assistant at iFactor. She loves the opportunity to help her coworkers and make their lives easier. Read on to see what you have in common with Citlaly!
How would you describe your role?
My position is partly Construction Administration, partly helping the team with whatever they may need. This usually consists of sending Change Order Requests through client-specific platforms, ordering prints, or fixing up documents and excel sheets. My role is very computer based, although I also clean up and keep things stocked and organized in the office.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I want to say it’s just being helpful. I do like making other people’s lives easier when I can.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Be two percent more selfish. This may sound odd but at the time I was still living with my family, and I was constantly doing things for others to fit the role and expectations set on me. My friend and partner both asked me to just be a bit more selfish even if it was only a tiny bit. To do things for myself for once instead of doing it for others.
What is your favorite go-to meal?
Entomatadas; I grew up eating them all the time. Although now I like spicy food, so it’s shifted to enchiladas and chilaquiles.
Entomatadas, a typical Mexican dish, is a folded corn tortilla fried and bathed in a tomato sauce and filled chicken, beef, cheese, or beans and topped with tomato sauce, sour cream, cheese, and onion.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
My middle name.
What’s your favorite thing about living in California?
One thing I do like about California is that it’s a melting pot of different ethnicities and culture, so I get to try all kinds of food. There are a lot of different communities which have built local shops and restaurants that are filled with culture, and very good food.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to do nonproductive activities like watching TV and playing video games. There is almost always someone at my apartment, so I spend a lot of my spare time co-existing and enjoying my friends’ company.
When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
For a time, I thought I wanted to be teacher. Then one day one of my teachers told me that was a terrible idea, and I took it to heart. I don’t think I have the patience to be a teacher, I work better when I’m working with people one-on-one compared to being surrounded. In high school I thought about becoming a therapist but in the end, I decided college was too expensive to stay that long.
What’s your favorite place you’ve ever traveled?
I haven’t done much traveling. I want to say it’s La Cruz in Mexico but that’s because that is where most of my cousins are, and I love seeing them. I loved being able to walk around Yosemite’s hiking trails and walking around San Francisco though Chinatown and Little Italy.
What is your favorite book? Movie/TV show?
My favorite book is The Kite Runner. Favorite movie is Forrest Gump. And I don’t have a favorite tv show because I have seen too many, but my favorite comfort shows are Scrubs and Malcom in the Middle.
